There have been a couple of food giveaways in the last couple of weeks. About 400 bags of food were distributed April 29 to Hana residents impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The distribution was a joint effort with Project Ho’omana, VIP Foodservice, Mahi Pono, Maui Soda & Ice Works, Maui County Farm Bureau and the county. The distribution was at the Hana Ball Park, which drew a line of cars. On Monday, Maui Best Inc. and Ho’omana Farms LLC gave away 12 tons of sweet potatoes.
